Warren Gene Wilson

   Mr. Warren Gene Wilson, 70, passed away June 12, 2024. 

   Warren had a serous auto accident at the age of 20 that changed the course of his life, but, with the help of family and friends, he was able to make the most of his situation. He was known as the “Mayor of Burke Road” and was known and loved by many in the community. He was a lifelong member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church and a graduate of Crest High School. He loved watching sports, “talking junk”, and drinking Mountain Dew. 

   Warren was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Barnett Wilson, father, Gene Wilson, and brother-in-law, Paul Lovelace.

   Survivors include; a sister, Kay Lovelace, a niece, Mandy Lovelace and husband Richard, and their children, Sebastian and Cecilia, all of Collierville, TN, special aunts, Ann Tria of Gastonia, NC, and Becky Dixon and husband Howard of Kings Mountain, NC, and many special extended family and friends.

   Memorials may be directed to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1106 Poplar Springs Church Rd, Shelby, NC 28152.
