Teresa Kaye Kelly

Teresa Kaye Kelly, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, left this world on February 16, 2026. She was born on June 23, 1966, in Shelby, North Carolina, where her spirit shone brightly throughout her life. A gentle soul, Teresa's kindness and warmth were felt by all who knew her, drawing friends and family closer to her heart.

Teresa cherished the simple joys of life. Whether it was the thrill of camping under star-studded skies, the soothing embrace of the ocean waves at the beach, or the blissful laughter shared over games on her phone, she found beauty in every moment. Conversations with friends were treasures for Teresa; her gift of gab enlivened gatherings, bringing smiles and stories to life. Time spent with her family was sacred to her, a tapestry woven with love and laughter.

Though her passing leaves a profound silence, her legacy continues through her four children, who carry forward her spirit and love. Teresa is survived by her devoted brothers: Claude Hamrick of Shelby, NC, Cletus Hamrick of Gaffney, SC, David Hamrick and his wife Janet of Cherryville, NC, Daniel Hamrick of Clover, SC, and Dennis Hamrick Sr. with his wife Jamie of Gaffney, SC. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Diane Hamrick of Grover, NC, and another sister, Clara Hall and her husband Dennis of Gaffney, SC. Each of them holds a piece of Teresa's heart, forever cherishing their shared memories together.

Teresa was preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Kelly, and her parents, J.Y. Hamrick and Joyce McSwain Hamrick. They welcome her back into their embrace, while those left behind hold on to the countless moments that brought joy to their lives.

A visitation to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory in Shelby, NC, on February 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. A burial will follow at the House of Prayer Cemetery in Lawndale, NC.  Friends, family, and all who were touched by Teresa’s light are invited to join in remembering her enduring spirit.

Teresa Kaye Kelly will forever be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave to those around her. In our hearts, she will remain—a beacon guiding us through the darkness, inspiring us to seek joy in every day.
