Sherry Jean Smith Beason, of Shelby, NC, passed away on August 23, 2026, at CMC Main in Charlotte, NC. She was born on December 1, 1959, in Shelby.
Sherry will be remembered for the love she had for those closest to her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and that simple, steady devotion shaped the way she lived and the way she will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Allen Smith and wife Sherry of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Rylee Smith of Shelby, NC, Keeley Boggs and husband Cameron of Charlotte, NC, Cody Smith of Shelby, NC, and Robbie Smith of Shelby, NC, siblings, Terry Smith of Cherryville, NC, Roger Smith of Lawndale, NC, Rhonda Smith of Cherryville, NC, a half brother, Ricky Smith of Cherryville, NC, a half sister, Crystal Smith of Cherryville, NC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Each of them carries forward memories of her presence, her care, and the time they shared together.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert Beason, her biological parents, Bill and Betty Smith and her adopted parents since a young age, Bud and Betty Hoyle, a brother, Randy Joe Smith; her sister, Debbie Sigmon; and her half sister, Rachel Hoyle. Their memories remained a lasting part of her family’s story.
The family will gather to receive family and friends to share stories and memories from 11:00am - 12:00pm Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Cleveland Funeral Services in Shelby. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC
Sherry Jean Smith Beason will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and cherished time spent by her side.
