Sabra Gerrish

A native of Colleton County, SC, Mrs. Strickland died on July 28, 2006 at Parkview Retirement Center in Sanford, NC. She was formerly of Shelby, NC where she lived with her husband, the late Rodney Blaine Gerrish. She was a 1940 graduate of Winthrop and retired from St. Lucie County, Fla.School System. She taught high school business for 39 years. She was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church in Shelby. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lonnie Strickland & Sarah Jones Strickland; daughter, Marquita Rentz Pegram; sisters, Murdell Strickland & Marguerite Kinard. She is survived by 4 grandsons & their wives: Robert H. Pegram, Jr. & Paulette, Tom G. Pegram & Holley, Mike E. Pegram & Beth, D. Brad Pegram & Tonya; great grandchildren, R. H., Zack & Addie Pegram; Paige & Patrick Pegram; Emory & Ellie Pegram; Hunter & Kaitlyn Pegram and a son-in-law, Bob Pegram.
