Roy Mcmurry

Mr. Roy H. McMurry, 88, of Orlando, FL died there on August 8, 2010. He served in the U. S. Army for 20 years and was a former member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Yancy McMurry &Frances Elizabeth Suzanna McSwain McMurry; infant daughter & son, Annie & Dewey McMurry deceased brothers, Wilburn McMurry & Clifford McMurry deceased sisters, Laurlie Birdges, Irene Barrett, Mary Helen Queen and Kathleen White. He is survived by a special friend, Irmgard Strayhorn and a number of special nieces and nephews. The family requests that memorials be made to: Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 2338 Pleasant Hill Ch. Rd., Grover, NC. Services will be held on Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with visitation 10:00 - 11:00 and the funeral at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jamison Williams will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
