Renee Belcher

Renee Belcher, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House, entering her eternal rest with her Lord at the age of 72. Born on May 18, 1952, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Renee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Renee is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Belcher. She is also mourned by her children: Bryan Belcher and his partner Natalie Page of Deep Gap, NC; Lynn Whittaker and her husband Jack of Princeton, WV; Jeannie Brittain and her husband Mark of Shelby, NC; and Heather Justice and her husband Mike of Shelby. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nikki Whittaker, Richard Whittaker, III and his wife Brittany, Kelsey Richard and her husband Nathaniel, Madison Manuel and her husband Seth, Allison Rainey and her husband Austin, Brandon Justice and his wife Stephanie, Breanna Cook and her husband Justin. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Richard IV, Hunter, Bailey, Harper, Braxlynn, Rowyn, Colton, Isla, Willow, Nova, Weslee, Rylee, and Piper-Leigh.

She was predeceased by her father, Hughlon Stroup; her mother, Lois Blanton Ivester; her stepfather, Hugh Ivester; and her brothers, Ronnie Stroup, Vernon Stroup, and Doug Stroup.

Renee will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and the warm, loving home she created for her family. She was famously dubbed the "best MawMaw in the world" by her great-grandchildren, a testament to the joyful impact she had on the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on May 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory, located at 2518 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC. A funeral service to honor her life will take place at Faith Baptist Church, 2738 S Post Rd, Shelby, NC, on May 6, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, officiated by Dr. J. Barry Goodman, followed by her burial at Grover Cemetery, Bethlehem Church Road, Grover, NC, at 2:30 PM. Pallbearers include, Bryan Belcher, Jeffery Hunt, Mike Justice, Mark Brittain, Brandon Justice, and Blaine Richard.

Renee Belcher's warmth and love will continue to resonate in the lives of her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the souls of those she cherished most.
