Millard Caldwell

Mr. Caldwell, 75, of 401 N. Morgan Street, White Oak Manor of Shelby, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, NC, (Kings Mountain), he retired from Western & Southern Insurance where he was an insurance representative. He was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and attended N. Lafayette Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Caldwell organized Drive-In-Chapel on South Post Road in the 1970's. He served in the U. S. Navy where he was a Chief Petty Officer and Communications Officer. Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents; Millard Benson Caldwell & Mae Horne Caldwell, and his wife Chloe Blanton Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell is survived by a son and his wife Rev. Scott Caldwell & Freida of Shelby, a brother and his wife DeWayne Caldwell & Jerralene of Kings Mountain, and a sister Gloria "Tootie" Ware of Kings Mountain, two granddaughters Heather Caldwell and Jessica Caldwell, and a beloved girlfriend & companion Martha Fay Graham of Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Scott Caldwell and Rev. James Rice.
