Mildred Self

Mrs. Self, 85, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Self, a native of Cleveland County, retired from Dover Mill Company. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Gantts Grove Baptist Church in Mooresboro. Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her parents J. C. & Alice Allen, and her husband J. L. Self. Mrs. Allen is survived by her two daughters and their husbands; Stan and Wanda Schenkel of Mooresboro and Dwight and Cheryl Reid of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by a sister, Violet Allen of Greenville, SC, four brothers, Bronner Allen of Greenville, SC, Flay Allen of Elche Spain, Gettys Allen of Pensacola, Fla., and Alton Allen of Zirconia, NC; six grandchildre, Jessica and Phillip Camp, Christa, Paul and Miranda Schenkel, Matthew and Jonathan Reid, and two great-grandchildren, Kaela and Kieren Camp. Speakers for the funeral services will be Robert Lane, pastor of Gantts Grove Baptist Church, Matthew Reid, Grandson and Stan Schenkel, Son-in-law.
