Mr. Melvin Melroy Proctor, 86, of Shelby passed away on
September 23, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A native of
Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Melvin Melroy
Proctor & Mable Ferguson
Daniels. Mr. Proctor was a hotel manager,
and worked and retired as a corrections officer in South Carolina.
He was a member of Dover Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and
Shriners. He served his country in the
U. S. Navy during WWII.
He liked to fish and was a wonderful cook and loved horse trading.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Annie Ruth Proctor.
He is survived by his
daughter, Angie Truszkowski & husband, Alan of Shelby;
granddaughter, Tara Phillips & husband, Robbie;
five great grandchildren;
a sister, Katherine Bowen & husband, Harvey of Shelby and a brother,
Bill Proctor & wife, Dovie of Shelby; a special nephew, Jimmy McCraw
and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cleveland Funeral Services,
Wednesday, September 26, 2012
10:00 – 11:00 am with the
Memorial Service following in the Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel
at 11:00 am. Rev. Scott Huffman will officiate. Memorials may be made to:
