Mary Mason

Mrs. Mason, 78, of Oak Grove Rest Home, Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Rutherford Hospital. Mrs. Mason a retired florist and had worked at Peelers African Violets in Fallston. She was a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church in Shelby. Mrs. Mason was preceeded in death by her parents Horace Newell Morrow & Mary Stella Smith, her husband Willie Edward Mason Jr., and a daughter Madeline R. Longenecker. Mrs. Mason is survived by a son Willie E. Mason III and wife Teresa of Dallas, NC, a grandson Hank Owensby of Shelby, a granddaughter Brittney Mason of Shelby, NC, two sisters Ailene Hubbard of Shelby, NC, and Elva Myra and husband Julian of Jacksonville, Fla., a great aunt Illian Moss of Shelby, NC, a son-in-law John Longenecker of Shelby, NC. In addition to these she had a great granddaughter Erica Owensby Love and husband Donnie, and two step great grandchildren Catherine Riley and Brandon Bennett. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Pervis Mason.
