Marvin Patrick, a native of Gaffney, S.C., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church of Shelby, and was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers of Cherryville as a mechanic. He was also well known as a master mechanic of equipment in the farm community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Patrick, Sr. and Elma Mullinax Patrick; his wife, Evelyn H. Patrick; brothers:, Oscar Patrick, Jr., Kinard Patrick, William Patrick, Charles Patrick, Bob Patrick and Paul Patrick; and sisters, Sara McSwain, Alsie Brigman and Betty Davis.
He is survived by his daughters, Jean Nestlerode and husband Russell and Lisa Patrick, all of Shelby; grandsons, Travis Nestlerode and wife Audrey of Charlotte, and Adam Taylor Nestlerode of Shelby; great-grandson, Hayden Nestlerode of Charlotte; sister, Frances Camp of Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
