Marty Buren Jones

Marty Buren Jones, born on May 15, 1971, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, passed away on July 24, 2025, at Atrium Healthcare - Cleveland. He departed this life surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Marty was an accomplished automotive mechanic, known for his skill and dedication in his profession. His passion for automobiles, paired with his friendly nature, made him a beloved figure among his colleagues and the community. He was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church, where he found both faith and fellowship, contributing to the community that shaped his life.

Those who knew him will remember Marty for his engaging personality; he was fun to be around and cherished his family deeply. He found joy in everyday moments and fostered loving relationships with those close to him.

Marty is survived by his loving sisters, Robin and Bobby Cogdell, and Jackie Ballenger; his brother, Todd and Nikki Jones, along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will carry forth his love and memory.

He was predeceased by his father, Jack B. Jones, and his mother, Dolly Furr Jones, who have welcomed him into eternal peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, at Lattimore Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, beginning at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Jeremy McSwain. Visitation will follow the service as attendees leave, so that friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Marty’s life.

Marty Buren Jones leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew him. His spirit, love for family, and dedication to his craft will be remembered fondly.
