Margaret Edwards Gettys

  Mrs. Margaret Edwards Gettys, age 94 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

 Margaret is survived by her children, Don Edwards (Darlene), Burl Edwards (Susie), Aaron Edwards (Barbara), and Jody Edwards (Sandra), all of Shelby, NC, nine grandchildren, Andrea Power (Sean), Chris Edwards (Amy), Angela Black, Josh Edwards, Jed Edwards (Christy), Andie Jo Guffey (Jason), Jennifer Flowers (Chris), Adam Edwards (Kenslee), and Kellie Toney (Chris), twenty one great grandchildren, a brother, Eddie Pack (Patsy) of Hollis, NC, three sisters, Madge Beam of Shelby, NC, Linda Stanley of Shelby, NC, and Helen Mullinax of Blacksburg, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Born August 29, 1930, in Rutherford County, NC, Margaret was the daughter of the late Ed Pack and Addie Dale Pack and was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh Wray Edwards and John Kenneth Gettys, a grandson-in-law, Chris Black, and five sisters, Edna Blanton, Hattie Pack, Sarah Carpenter, Betty Newton, and Jane Hawkins.

 A visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 3:30pm Friday, September 6, 2024, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Friday, September 6, 2024, at the church following the visitation. A private committal will follow in the church cemetery.
