Lela Blanton

Mrs. Lela Blanton, 89, loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord at her home on Thursday, April 19,2012 .  She was the daughter of the late John Crayton & Lillie McSwain Hamrick and was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Carl Blanton, first husband, Arthur Blanton; brothers, Buford & Horace Hamrick; sisters, Edna Lancaster, Gertie Guffey, Bertha Guffey, Euzelia Holder, Ruth Wesson & infant twin sisters, Dora & Delia Hamrick.



A native of Cleveland County, she was the founder of Boiling Springs Florist in 1971.  She was a member of Lavonia Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher.  The family would like to extend their thanks to caregivers, Dawn Caldwell, Candy Powell, Linda Lou Phillips, Elizabeth Moore and Debbie Hoyle;  Dr. Evelyn Rabindrian & staff and the Gentiva staff, Sharon Murray & Mallie Barnes.



She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Voss and husband, Larry Voss of the home, Renee Walker & husband, Randy Walker of Boiling Springs;  granddaughter, Carla Lytle-Hendrix of Indian Trail, NC; sisters-in-law, Thelma Hamrick of Shelby and Marjorie Hamilton of Boiling Springs and a number of nieces and nephews.
