Lawrence Mckee

Mr. Lawrence McKee, age 73, of Grover, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of the late Claude McKee and Elivine Beaver Self. Mr. McKee worked and later retired from Carolina Freight after 30 years of service. He loved to take care of others and raise purple martins. Mr. McKee enjoyed farming cattle, working with tractors, wood working, and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, M.H. Self "Berr Rabbit"; brother, Charles McKee.

He is survived by his son, Steve McKee and wife Angela of Grover; daughter, Kim Charles and husband David of Grover; six grandchildren, Mariah McKee, Marcus McKee, Austin McKee, Ashlee Drake, Emilee Henson, and Haylee Charles.
