Kevin Dewayne Thomas

Kevin Thomas entered into the presence of our Lord on Friday, July 17, 2026, following a tragic vehicle accident.

Kevin was the beloved son of Judy and George Thomas. He had two children, a son, Cameron Thomas (Faith) and daughter, Justyna Thomas. He had three siblings—two brothers Tim and Stacey, one sister Meria; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Kevin was a kind, funny, loving, and wise man whose compassion and encouragement touched the lives of many. He was known for speaking with wisdom, offering a listening ear, and making those around him feel valued and loved.

In March 2026, Kevin was baptised and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. During the final months of his life, he devoted himself to growing in his faith and strengthening his relationship with Christ. He attended Second Baptist Church in Cherryville, North Carolina, where he continued to learn, grow, and fellowship with other believers. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

Kevin wore many hats and worked different jobs throughout his life. Most notably he was a long haul truck driver for many years and a CNA for several. His last job was at Pizza Hut where he made a lasting impact on everyone there. Kevin enjoyed watching movies, playing video games, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He treasured the moments spent laughing, talking, and simply being together with those he loved.

To allow family and friends from both North Carolina and Tennessee the opportunity to gather in remembrance, two Celebrations of Life will be held.

The North Carolina Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville, North Carolina.

A second Celebration of Life will be held in Tennessee at a later date. Details will be shared once they are finalized.

Although Kevin's passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, we rejoice in the hope found in Jesus Christ. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the legacy of faith, kindness, and love that he leaves behind.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
