John "Al" Albert Lookadoo

Mr. John “Al” Albert Lookadoo, age 88 of Shelby, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

He is survived by his children, Melinda Jones and husband Don of Shelby, NC, and Ginger Peeler and husband Don of Shelby, NC, 4 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, siblings, Bruce Lookadoo and wife Bonnie of Shelby, NC, and Judy Mauney and husband Mike of Lattimore, NC.

Born August 27, 1936, in Cleveland County, NC, Al was the son of the late George and Alda McSwain Lookadoo and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Barbara Humphries Lookadoo, siblings, Emmett Lookadoo, Janice Humphries, and Lynn Morrison.

Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, traveling tours, farming, Atlanta Braves baseball, and spending time with his family and friends.

A private service will be held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
