James William Henderson

 Mr. James William Henderson, age 82 of Shelby NC, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.

 He is survived by his son, Ronnie William Henderson of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Jessica Safrit (Adam) of Shelby, NC, Alison Henderson of Shelby, NC, Trent Henderson of Shelby, NC, and Laura Henderson of Shelby, NC, four great grandchildren, Maddy Safrit, Austin Safrit, Rosie Henderson, and Thatcher Henderson, siblings, Bobby Henderson (Terri) of Shelby, NC, Johnny Henderson of Shelby, NC, Archie Henderson of Shelby, NC, Dianne Horton of Ellenboro, NC, Danny Henderson of Shelby, NC, and Dorothy Kay Reynolds of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Born March 27, 1942, in Cleveland County, NC, James was the son of the late James Henderson and Maggie Beaver Henderson and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 plus years, Shirley Poteat Henderson, a son, Randy Henderson, and four siblings, Judy Carter, Kathy Smith, Betty Jean Jackson, and Charlie Henderson.

 James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 3, 2025, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Curtis McDaniel. A visitation will be held form 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.
