Glenn Hawkins

Mr. Glenn Hawkins, 75, of Shelby passed away at Cleveland Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.  A native of Cleveland County, Mr. Hawkins was son of the late John Ken Hawkins & Addie Lee Edwards Hawkins.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Myrtle Hamrick Hawkins; sisters Janie Hunt, Jean Shehan, Mary Hawkins & Ruby Hawkins and brothers Cecil Hawkins & Johnny Hawkins.



Mr. Hawkins was a farmer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working and gardening.   He was of the Baptist faith.



He is survived by his wife Thelma Martin Hawkins; daughter Benita Hipps & husband Tony of Shelby, three sons, Everette Hawkins & wife Renee of Blacksburg, SC, Gary Dean Hawkins & wife Angela of Shelby and Robert Joel Hawkins of Blacksburg, SC; brothers Chivous Hawkins, Ray Hawkins, Willie Hawkins and Boyd Hawkins and one sister Frances Emory; 12 grandchildren & 26 great grandchildren.
