Gerald Ray Price

Gerald Ray Price, a beloved figure in his community and a man whose legacy will echo through the lives he touched, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 11, 2025. Born on July 2, 1932, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, he was a beacon of strength and wisdom throughout his life. His journey of service to both his country and his community marked the path he traveled, leaving indelible impressions on all those fortunate enough to share in his life.

An esteemed veteran of the United States Army, Gerald exemplified commitment and camaraderie during his years of service, facing the trials of his time with unwavering resolve. Following his military service, he devoted himself to the advancement of others, earning a Master’s Degree and serving as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Through this noble vocation, he extended a guiding hand to many, helping individuals navigate the complexities of life and find their footing in a world filled with challenges.

Gerald's family was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his loving daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Wall, and her husband Eric, who reside in Shelby. A cherished grandfather, he took immense pride in his grandchildren, Alec Wall and Harrison Wall, who brought joy and light to his life. The family circle extends further with the presence of his half-brother, Dr. Bulo Ervin Price III, and his wife Mackie of Shelby, along with another half-brother, Kim Price, and his wife Kay from Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and a half-sister, Ina Hunsinger of Raleigh. These bonds, forged through love and shared experiences, symbolized the essence of who Gerald was—a devoted family man whose heart was ever open.

The world will fondly remember Gerald not only for his accomplishments but for his kindness, humility, and an innate ability to inspire those around him. His beloved wife, Audrey Inez Barlowe Price, predeceased him, leaving a space that only the truest of loves can fill. He is also reunited with his parents, Bulo Ervin Price, II, and Iva Geneva Poston Price, who laid the foundation of appreciation for hard work and integrity that defined his character.

A graveside service to honor his life will take place on October 17, 2025, at the Double Springs Baptist Church, located at 1130 Double Springs Church Rd in Shelby, North Carolina, commencing at 11:00 AM, officiated by Dr. Bulo Ervin Price III.
