George Hope

Mr. George Reid Hope, 60,  passed away on April 30, 2012 in Shelby.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Charlie Hope & Sarah Owens Lowrance.   He had worked in textiles as a dye machine operator and most recently worked for Nelon-Cole Pest Control and  was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, four wheeling and spending time with his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, A. V. Lowrance; son, Jonathan Matthew Hope and a grandson, Jason Peace Hope.



He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Debra Hope of the home; Jason Hope & wife Brook of White Pines, TN; daughter, Ashley Hope & fiancé,  Jonathan of Shelby; sons, Thaniel Hope & Charlie Hope of Kings Mountain; daughter, Peggy Trammell & husband, Bo of Cherryville; grandchildren, Erica Yates, Emily Yates, Gary Yates, Jr., Maggie Hope, Ryatt Hope and Alyssa Brown; sisters, Diane Nichols & husband, Fred of Gastonia and Sheila Wall & husband, David of Shelby; brothers, Mike Hope and wife, Kathy of Gastonia, Jimmy Hope & wife, Brenda of Waco and Joey Hope & wife, Annette of Boiling Springs.
