Frank Putnam

Mr. Frank Young Putnam, 80, of Shelby, NC passed away on October 17, 2011 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, Mr. Putnam retired from P.P.G. where he worked in the accounting department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean war. He was the son of the late Clyde George Putnam & Elizabeth Cantrell Putnam and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers & 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Winky" Abernathy Putnam of Shelby; sons, David Putnam & wife Debra of Simpsonville, SC, Stephen Putnam & wife Pat of Charleston, SC; sisters, Betty Jo Carpenter of Forest City and Suzanne Kiser & husband Melvin of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Brandy Gragg, Chase Putnam & wife Lauren, Forrest Putnam and great-grandchildren, Shelby Gragg & Dakota Gragg. A private service will be held at a later date.
