Forrest Hite

Forrest Martin Hite, age 101, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Wendover Hospice House. A native of Huntington, WV, he is the youngest of eight children born to the late Henry Hite and Ona Morris Hite. He was a wonderful provider, husband, father, and family man. His father was the purchaser of the first car sold in Huntington, WV. Mr. Hite worked for C & O Railroad for 47 years until his retirement. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Shafer Hite; daughter, Rita Gail Hesson; seven siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Hite Hutchinson (Herb) of Shelby; grandson, Randy T. Hutchinson (Maggie) with whom he made his home in Shelby; two granddaughters, Deborah Lynn Hesson Parkinson (Bob Norwood) of Memphis, TN and Anna Stacey Hesson of Memphis, TN; two great grandchildren, Tiffani Hutchinson Kelly (Kyle) of Nashville, TN and Tony Hutchinson of Shelby; great-great granddaughter, Lillian "Lily" Hutchinson of Shelby.
