Florence Simpson

Mrs. Florence Griffin Simpson, 72, of Shelby, NC, passed away at Hospice of Cleveland County on January 1, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Gordon Willie Griffin & Bertha Estelle Griffin. A native of Putnam County, GA, she was a homemaker, loved flowers, gardening and making floral arrangements. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewel Wease and husband Clyde & Helen Hathcock; brother, Gordon Griffin & wife, Myrtle; a nephew, Kenneth Wease; and a sister-in-law, Frances Sorow.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Roger Simpson of the home; niece, Janice Pitton & husband, Carlo of Charlotte; nephew, Donald Wease & wife, Linda Gay of Concord; niece, Brenda Hathcock & husband, Teddie of Anderson, SC; nephew, Walter Griffin & wife, Cherice of MD; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Griffin of Shelby; brother-in-law Milton Hathcock of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law, Doris Raymer of Concord; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory, Friday, 10:00 - 11:00 am.
