Donald Eric Whitaker

Mr. Donald Eric Whitaker, 48, passed away on January 19th, 2025, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center in Rutherfordton, NC. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Whitaker of twenty-five years, his father, Stanley Whitaker (Cindy), his mother, Connie Greene (Tommy), a sister, Elisha Vinnekamp (Chris), several step siblings, his father in-law Willard Greene, a nephew, CJ Allen, and his dog, Hank. 

Born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on September 1st, 1976, Donald Eric Whitaker was preceded in death by his sister, Tabitha Whitaker, a sister in-law Tammy Greene, mother in-law, Verlinda Greene, and a nephew, Madison Whitaker.

Donald was a loving husband, son, and friend to many, he enjoyed playing guitar, singing, playing gospel songs, and listening to other gospel artists. Donald also loved classic country music. He also was a member at Level at the Cross Church in Forest City, NC.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 11:00AM, at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel, 2518 West Dixon Blvd Shelby, NC 28152, the family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 10:00AM at Cleveland Funeral Services. A private burial will be held for the family at another date.
