Christopher Newton

United States Staff Sergeant Christopher Newman, 26, died on October 29, 2011 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC he served as a mental health specialist in the United States Army for seven years. He was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church and a graduate of Crest High School. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Jo Lynn Newman of San Antonio, Texas, daughter, Anyca C. Miller of Georgia, grandparents (guardians) Donn Newman, Sr. & Earlene Newman; birth mother, Gina Strausser; brothers, James Brent Newman, all os Shelby, Chad Andrew Davis of Kings Mountain, Derrick Anthony Davis of Kings Mountain, great grandmother, Loretta Patton of Shelby, aunts, Teresa Gregory of Shelby, Loretta Newman Roche of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donna Birch of Shelby; uncles Donn Newman, II & David Patton of Shelby; cousins, Christy Jarrell, Randy Birch & Austin Burch of Shelby and Justin Gregory of New Hampshire.
