Carolyn Emery Allen, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, in Ellenboro, North Carolina. Born on October 26, 1950, in Shelby, North Carolina, Carolyn’s life was marked by dedication not only to her family but also to her enduring career in the textile industry, where she worked for most of her life.

Carolyn was a nurturing soul who found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren. Her kitchen was often filled with warmth and the enticing aromas of home-cooked meals, especially during the Christmas holidays—a tradition she cherished deeply. Her generosity went beyond cooking; it was in the love and care she offered to those around her.

She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, remembered as a woman of kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to family.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Connie McDaniel, and her husband Jeff of Ellenboro, NC. She leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: Ashley Jacobus, Brittany Thomas, and Natalie Cujas, as well as three great-grandchildren who continue to carry forward her legacy of love.

Her passing also marks the loss of a devoted wife, mother, and granddaughter, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Turkey” Eugene Allen, her son Gerald Eugene Allen Jr., her daughter Laura Ann Thomas, and grandson Dustin Allen. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her father Floyd “Bud” Emery, her mother Betty Ann Johnson Emery, and her siblings Randy Emery, Gary Emery, and Pamela Ruff.

Throughout her life, Carolyn was a pillar of her family and community, touching many hearts with her gentle spirit and dedication. As friends and family gather to remember her, her legacy will live on in the memories she created and the love she freely gave. The imprint of Carolyn’s life remains steadfast in all who knew her, a testament to a life beautifully lived.

A private burial will be held at Frank Allen Memorial Cemetery.
