Brenda White Wellmon, cherished wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, North Carolina. Born March 8, 1946, in Shelby, Brenda spent her life embracing family values and sharing her warmth, kindness, and spirited enthusiasm with everyone around her.

Throughout her eighty years, Brenda’s devotion to loved ones was unwavering. She had a special talent for cultivating bonds not only within her family but also with many friends who came to know and appreciate her generosity and sincerity. Brenda enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, a true testament to her caring nature and the deep connections she formed over a lifetime.

Among her many hobbies and cherished pastimes, Brenda was known for her fondness of trips to the mountains. These excursions brought her great joy and allowed her to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of nature. Brenda also delighted in playing bingo, where her cheerful spirit and infectious laughter brightened the days of those who joined her. Shopping was another of her treasured activities, enabling her to share her good taste and thoughtfulness through the gifts she selected for loved ones.

Brenda’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by those who survive her.  She is survived by devoted husband, Earl Wellmon of the home; her sister, Debbie Anderson and husband Noah of Earl, NC; her sisters-in-law, Becky Beam and husband Don of Shelby, NC, and Trisha Browning and husband Russell of Kings Mountain, NC; nephews Christopher John Anderson of Earl, NC, Clint and wife Candice of Shelby, NC, Justin and wife Angela of Shelby, NC, and Rodney Honeycutt and wife Kim of Manteo, NC; niece Kassey Fender and husband Alex of Hendersonville, NC; and Kelli and husband Richard of Shelby, NC, and numerous great nieces and nephews.  Each of them carries a part of her indomitable spirit, warmth, and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Odell White; her mother, Margaret Aileen Mayhue White; and her brother, Johnny White. Their memories, cherished and honored, are now reunited in peace.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Monday, August 24, 2026, at Cleveland Funeral Services, 2518 West Dixon Blvd in Shelby.  A funeral will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Russ Bradley.  A burial will follow at Zion Baptist Church.

Brenda White Wellmon’s graciousness, joyful spirit, and loving heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be remembered with deep fondness and respect, her memory living on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
