Bobby Mayhue

Mr. Bobby Mayhue, age 85 of Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Mayhue of the home, his children, Chiquita Crotts (Horace) of Mooresville, NC, and Bobby Eric Mayhue (Rosie) of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Bobby Wayne Mayhue (Marie) of Kings Mountain, NC, Sarah Louise Crotts of Mooresville, NC, Anthony Todd Mayhue (Candice) of Shelby, NC, and Alex Tyler Mayhue of Greensboro, NC, five great grandchildren, Landon, Dawson, Gavin, Keely, and Madison, a sister, Carol Grayson of Casar, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born May 10, 1939, in Cleveland County, NC, Bobby was the son of the late Ben Lee Mayhue and Louise Griffith Mayhue and was preceded in death by his siblings, Joanne Collins, Gene Mayhue, and Larry Mayhew.

Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He owned and operated Mayhue’s Garage in Shelby for more than 33 years. Bobby was a faithful member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, doing lawn maintenance, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Cleveland Funeral Services chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Allen and Rev. Alan Sailors. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
