Bob Horton

Mr. Bob Horton, Sr., 70, of Shelby passed away at

Hospice House of Kings Mountain, Tuesday, August 21,

2012.  He was the son of the late Raymond Horton &

Letha Pendleton Pearson and was also preceded in death

by his wife, Ruth Bridges Horton and a sister, Brenda

Horton.



Mr. Horton had worked in textiles at J. P. Stevens and

was a supervisor at Kemet for 25 years.  He was a member

of First Wesleyan Church, Kings Rd., Shelby; a Mason

at Lodge 744; former member of the Cleveland Volunteer

Fire Department and the Cleveland County Senior Golf

League.



He is survived by a son, Bobby Horton, Jr. & wife,

Amy; and a daughter, Donnis Bridges & husband, Randy

of Shelby; a sister, Tina Pearson of Greensboro; a

brother-in-law, Carl Ogren of Shelby; grandchildren,

Angela Malone & husband, Adam, Jessica Bridges,

Marlee Horton, Kaylee Horton & Baylee Horton all of

Shelby; and two great granddaughters,

Sophee Malone & Kaidence Byers of Shelby.



Visitation: First Wesleyan Church, Saturday,12:00 - 1:00 pm with the funeral

following at the church. The Revs. Eddie Grey & Eddie Clayton

will officiate.



Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park with Masonic Rites
