Betty Jean Mullinax Crotts Peeler

Mrs. Betty Jean Mullinax Crotts Peeler, age 85 of Lawndale NC, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Shelton and husband Rocky of Shelby, NC, Fredia Lail of Shelby, NC, Martha Badger and husband Mark of Grover, NC, Penny Burroughs and husband Jim of Shelby, NC, Joe Crotts of Lawndale, NC, and Jesse Crotts of Lawndale, NC, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Born May 27, 1940, in Cleveland County, NC, Betty was the daughter of the late Jesse James Mullinax and Flossie J. Humphries Mullinax and was preceded in death by husband, Boyce Lee Peeler and 14 siblings.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby. Betty faithfully supported and volunteered her time at the Missions. She enjoyed gardening, rock hunting, getting out walking, and spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Owens and Brother Rocky Shelton. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
