Betty Jean Earl Greene, born on the 16th of March 1949 in Cleveland County, passed away peacefully on the 18th of December 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Betty lived a richly woven life of service and devotion, starting as a dedicated stay-at-home mother, nurturing her children with both warmth and the teachings of her deep Christian faith. A proud Sunday School teacher at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, she was a beacon of light to her family and the community, always imparting the importance of faith and fellowship. Her laughter and joy resonated within the walls of the church, where she cultivated a spirit of togetherness and spiritual growth among her students.

Later in her career, Betty embraced work at Union Carbide/Kemet Electronics Corporation, contributing tirelessly for many years, a testament to her strong work ethic. Additionally, as a Certified Nursing Assistant II with Bayada Home Health Care, she touched the lives of countless individuals, bringing joy and an improved quality of life to those in her care. Her spirit of selflessness and compassion defined her character, earning her the admiration and love of all who crossed her path.

Betty's vibrant personality was nothing short of infectious. Those who knew her remember her as a happy-go-lucky individual, ever eager to embark on family adventures, share stories, and create lasting memories. Her extreme kindness and willingness to help others were hallmarks of her being, perpetuating the love she had for her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Miles Greene; her daughters, Debra Greene Lovelace (Jeff), Kathy Greene Clary, and Susan Kay Greene (Michelle); and her son, Kenneth Miles Greene (Rose). She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren, Sydney Lovelace McGiffin (Matt), Riley Lovelace, Courtney Jade Clary, Aiden Greene, Owen Greene, and Ava Greene, alongside her great-grandchild, Elena Matisse McGiffin. She was the treasured sister of Brenda Earl Daves and Jimmy Lee Earl, remaining a constant source of strength and support to her family.

Though she is preceded in death by her parents, James Lee Earl and Georgia Smith Earl, and her cherished son-in-law, Derek Clary, Betty's spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched and inspired.

A visitation to honor her memory will take place on the 23rd of December 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory in Shelby, North Carolina. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, where she will find eternal peace.
