Alvin Grant

Mr. Grant, 86, of 211 North Morgan Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at Peak Resources in Gastonia, NC. A native of Cleveland County, he was a self employed painter for 50 years and a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Becky Grant, and his wife Ruth Powell Grant. Mr. Grant is survived by a nephew Paul Peeler of Shelby, and a number of other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. David Costner, pastor of Westwood Heights Baptist Church of Shelby.
